Vertical Radiators

Vertical radiators are ideal for kitchens, where the space under the window that a radiator usually occupies is filled by a kitchen sink. A vertical mirror radiator is perfect for an entrance hallway, providing you with heat and a full-length mirror in one compact package.

Tall radiators are also ideal for rooms where the radiators have previously been blocked. Placing a sofa in front of a radiator is fairly common but this will block heat flow, so replacing a horizontal radiator with a tall vertical radiator in another space will help this issue. Similarly, in many small bedrooms, a bed will be placed fairly close to a radiator, which will prevent heat distribution across the room. Even when there might not be enough room for a horizontal radiator elsewhere, with their small footprint, it's likely you could fit a vertical radiator in.

Vertical radiators can really help you when designing the layout of a room, as even though they produce the same heat outputs, they don't limit you to areas with a lot of horizontal space.

It is a commonly held belief that vertical radiators don't produce as much heat as horizontal radiators. This isn't the case, and a vertical radiator will produce the same heat output as a horizontal radiator of equivalent size.

Double panel radiators produce more heat for their size, so whether you need a double or single panel vertical radiator will depend on how large your room is.
